Two guys and one girl usually makes for an awkward situation, but when a two-way mirror and a video camera are added into the equation, drama is almost certain to ensue. Ellen Fairey’s original play “girl, 20,” now playing at Serendipity Theatre, 2936 N. Southport Ave., examines voyeurism and the slippery notion of sanity when a slacker and an academic observe the counseling sessions of a female student who is referred to her school’s psychological services after writing a sexually explicit essay.
The play reinvigorates the classic love triangle equation by refreshingly appealing to the intellect rather than making a sappy attempt to pull at the heart strings.
