Pulp Fiction
Grade: A The Music Box continues its strong weekend matinees with Tarantino’s landmark film. Hard to believe this movie is 10 years old — just long enough for John Travolta’s career to nosedive.
City of God
Grade: B In many ways reminiscent of the equally dynamic “Pulp Fiction,” Fernando Meirelles’ stylish Oscar-nominated sleeper is high on energy, sex, drugs and guns, but is ultimately a little shallow.
McCabe & Mrs. Miller
Grade: A The Gene Siskel Film Center will be showing Robert Altman’s beautifully shot (by Vilmos Zsigmond) variation on the Hollywood Western, with Warren Beatty and Julie Christie as the title characters.
