An Evanston man was arrested Friday and charged with stabbing his girlfriend and her mother at their house.
Sir B. Grant, 21, of the 1800 block of Monroe Street was charged with seven felonies in connection with the stabbing: two counts of attempted murder, four counts of aggravated battery and one count of domestic aggravated battery.
Grant was arrested after officers responded to two calls at about 3:45 a.m. Friday, said Cmdr. Michael Perry of Evanston Police Department. Grant called police from the house where the stabbings took place, on the 1200 block of Florence Avenue, and another call to the police department was made from a house on the 1600 block of Dempster Street, Perry said.
Perry said the woman’s mother, 54, ran to the house on Dempster, looking for help after being stabbed multiple times, and collapsed on the house’s porch. A resident then called police.
Grant’s girlfriend, 27, had been stabbed once in the abdomen, Perry said. Grant was with her on the porch of the house when officers arrived, Perry said.
A court had previously ordered Grant to stay away from the Florence Avenue residence.
Grant is scheduled to appear Nov. 12 at Circuit Court in Skokie.
