The main branch of the Evanston Public Library will host one of its two major yearly book sales starting today.
The fall sale will run through Sunday and is open to the public.
The library, 1703 Orrington Ave., hosts major sales each spring and fall and makes about $10,000 from each sale, said Kate Todd, the library’s executive secretary.
Doors for the sale, which can be found on the third floor, will open to members of the Library Friends at 3 p.m. today. Memberships to the group costs $15 and will be sold at the door.
From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the sale will be open to all members of the public. The sale will continue Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will conclude with a half-price day Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
Todd said the sale will include a wide range of books, including “everything from computer manuals to history books.” Videos and DVDs also will be available.
Most of the material was donated by the public, Todd said.
