Toxicology test results released in July showed that Joseph Doyle, a Music junior who was found dead in the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity house over Spring Break, died of cocaine and alcohol intoxication.
Doyle, 22, was found dead in the fraternity house March 27, after staying in Evanston over Spring Break to search for an apartment and a summer job. He was buried April 2 in his hometown of Quincy, Mass. A campus memorial service for Doyle was held April 4.
The cause of death was not determined at the scene and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office ordered toxicology tests. A spokeswoman from the office said the time it took to process Doyle’s tests was not unusual. The case was closed June 26.
