A Northwestern freshman reported missing by his father Tuesday night was found in Chicago early Wednesday morning, University Police said.
The student, who lives in the Foster-Walker Complex, was reported missing at 6 p.m. Tuesday after he did not show up for a scheduled meeting with his father, said UP Det. Don Stange. The two had planned to meet after a class in the Theatre and Interpretation Center.
The two officers on the midnight shift “made it their priority” to find the student, Stange said. The student’s father spent most of the night trying to find his son.
The student was not harmed or kidnapped but had just left campus voluntarily, police said.
“My understanding is that (the student) needed some time to be alone,” Stange said.
