Joy Yee Noodle, a downtown Evanston staple, is known for its colorful drinks, expansive menu and reliable quality.

Joy Yee Noodle opened its first location on Davis Street in 1994. Soon after, in 1996, the restaurant opened a second location in Chinatown Square. Today, the brand has six locations throughout the Chicago area.

Best known for its deluxe-sized bubble teas, Joy Yee has become a staple for Northwestern students and locals alike.

From classic taro milk tea to mango fruit tea packed with bursting boba, the shop offers seemingly endless customization options. Customers can choose sweetness levels, ice preferences and toppings ranging from tapioca pearls to aloe and lychee jelly.

Joy Yee Noodle also offers pan-Asian style cuisine. From its Szechuan wontons and teriyaki chicken to Vietnamese pho, there are several meal options for anyone who loves Asian fare.

Whether they’re grabbing a quick brown sugar milk tea between classes or catching up with friends over fruit slushes, Evanston’s boba lovers have made one thing clear: Joy Yee is the city’s top sip.
