She might be Booksmart, but she’s showing off her street smarts at Northwestern as Hillel’s celebrity speaker this fall.

Actor Beanie Feldstein will chat with NU community members at 7 p.m. on Nov. 9 at Nichols Concert Hall, the organization announced Saturday. Tickets will be available for free through Eventbrite, and Hillel will open a waitlist once capacity is reached. At 6:50 p.m. on the night of the conversation, waitlisted community members will get to fill any open seats on a first-come, first-served basis.

Most recently, Feldstein took on the lead role of Fanny Brice in this year’s Broadway revival of “Funny Girl” alongside Jane Lynch and Ramin Karimloo. The production was the show’s first Broadway revival since its debut in 1964.

Feldstein received critical acclaim for her turn in Olivia Wilde’s directorial debut “Booksmart” as well as her role in 2017’s “Lady Bird.” The actress also portrayed Monica Lewinsky, Hillel’s 2022 speaker, in FX’s “Impeachment: American Crime Story” — the third season of the anthology show.
