Northwestern will hire Boston College offensive coordinator Mike Bajakian as its offensive coordinator, according to The Athletic’s Matt Fortuna and Yahoo Sports’ Pete Thamel.

Bajakian, 45, has coached at the high school, college and professional level. He arrived in Chestnut Hill earlier this season after four seasons as the quarterbacks coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Eagles finished the season 6-6 with the offense averaging 30.9 points and 451.3 years per game. However, Boston College fired head coach Steve Addazio on Sunday.

Before serving as the offensive coordinator at Boston College, he previously served in the role at Central Michigan, Cincinnati and Tennessee. In addition to being the offensive coordinator at these schools, he also served as the quarterbacks coach.

Bajakian played college football at Division III Williams, where he was an All-New England Small College Athletic Conference and an All-ECAC quarterback.

A New Jersey native, Bajakian started his coaching career at New Jersey high school powerhouse Delbarton in 1996 before moving up to Rutgers as a graduate assistant in 1998. He also worked as an offensive quality control coach with the Chicago Bears from 2004-2006.
