Police arrested a 35-year-old woman after they say she got in an argument with another woman and cut her with a knife on Saturday.

The Evanston woman was drinking alcohol with a 37-year-old male and a 48-year-old female in a residential home, Evanston police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan said. The two women had gotten in an argument over a man earlier in the evening.

The man and 48-year-old woman asked the 35-year-old woman to leave because she was too intoxicated, Dugan said. The woman then pulled a knife out and cut the 48-year-old woman at the bottom of her neck. The injury was minor and she did not go to the hospital.

The man took the knife from the woman and called 911. Police charged the woman with misdemeanor battery.

Girl reports vehicle damage for third time in a year

A 17-year-old female reported damage to her car on Monday.

The Evanston resident told police she was leaving school on Tuesday when she noticed a scratch in the shape of an upside down A on the passenger door of her Honda, Dugan said. The car belongs to the girl’s father.

Dugan said police are unsure if the two previous instances of vandalism are in connection with the most recent one. There are currently no suspects.
