Blotter: Chicago man arrested in connection with aggravated assault

A Chicago man was arrested Thursday in downtown Evanston in connection with aggravated assault.
After receiving a call about an alleged altercation in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue, officers met a 28-year-old Evanston man who said he was involved in a verbal altercation with a Chicago man, Evanston police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan said. During the dispute, the 30-year-old Chicago man pulled out a gun, the Evanston resident said.
Dugan said police located the Chicago man at the intersection of Sherman Avenue and Davis Street. Upon arrival, police discovered the handgun was a pellet gun with the appearance of a real gun, Dugan said. The man was charged with aggravated assault, a misdemeanor.
Des Plaines woman arrested in connection with criminal trespass
A Des Plaines woman was arrested Thursday in connection with criminal trespass in west Evanston.
The manager of the building the woman allegedly entered said the woman had been warned multiple times to not enter the property because she had caused disturbances in the past with residents and staff, Dugan said. Officers found the woman on the fourth floor.
She was charged with criminal trespass, a misdemeanor.
