Blotter: Three arrested after driving without valid driver’s licenses

A Chicago woman was arrested Thursday evening after police found her driving without a valid driver’s license in west Evanston.
An officer assigned to investigate a traffic accident at Main Street and Dodge Avenue found that one of the drivers — a 21-year-old woman — did not have a valid driver’s license, Evanston police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan said.
She was taken into custody, charged with not having a valid driver’s license and given a traffic ticket for improper lane usage, Dugan said.

An Evanston man was arrested Friday after police stopped him while driving near the downtown area with expired plates.
Officers near Emerson Street and McCormick Boulevard observed the gray vehicle driving westbound and began to follow the vehicle. Shortly after, the 20-year-old driver made a lane change without signaling. He was stopped in the 3200 block of Elgin Road, Dugan said.
When officers spoke with the driver, they found he did not have a valid driver’s license. The man was charged with failure to signal with a lane change, no proof of insurance and no valid driver’s license, Dugan said.

A Chicago woman was arrested after police found she had been driving near the downtown area without a license.
At about 8:40 p.m. on Thursday, an officer was dispatched to the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue for a car accident. One of the drivers, a 41-year-old woman, had been driving her car to the repair shop when her brakes failed, Dugan said. She struck another car as well as a fire hydrant.
The officer spoke with the woman and noted she did not have a driver’s license. She was cited for improper lane usage and no valid driver’s license.
