An Evanston woman was arrested Saturday afternoon in connection with domestic battery after an altercation with her ex-boyfriend, Evanston police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan said.

The 19-year-old woman bit the 27-year-old man’s hand, causing him to bite her on her shoulder to get her to stop, Dugan said.

The ex-boyfriend told officers the incident was preceded by the woman coming uninvited to his house, located in the 800 block of Brummel Street in south Evanston, Dugan said. Upon arrival, the woman took his car keys, keyed his car and threatened to break its windows with bricks, the man said.

The woman was arrested in connection with misdemeanor domestic battery.

Man arrested after allegedly stealing two Red Bull cans

An Evanston man was arrested on Friday afternoon in south Evanston in connection with stealing two Red Bull energy drinks, Dugan said.

The 39-year-old man was spotted by an employee of the CVS in the 100 block of Asbury Avenue, who told officers she saw him take items from the store’s cooler and leave without paying for them, Dugan said.

Officers found the man nearby, at which point he admitted to taking two Red Bulls. He was arrested in connection with retail theft, a misdemeanor.
