Police arrested an Evanston man Thursday morning in connection with domestic battery in south Evanston.

A 41-year-old woman reported that her husband battered her after a verbal altercation turned physical, Evanston Police Department spokesman Perry Polinski said. She sustained minor injuries to her arm and shoulder, but refused medical treatment.

The man was on the scene when the officers arrived and was taken into custody, Polinski said. He was charged with domestic battery.

Chicago man arrested in connection with assault in south Evanston

A Chicago resident was arrested Thursday in connection with an assault in south Evanston.

Police responded to a report on the 600 block of Pitner Avenue that a driver involved in a car accident was chasing the other driver with a gun, Polinski said.

The man with the weapon was identified and taken into custody. He was charged with misdemeanor assault.
