New Evanston website seeks to allow arts community one-stop option

Bailey Williams, Assistant City Editor

Evanston has launched a new arts website allowing the arts community to communicate better with one another by sharing events, articles and job offerings.

“It’s a great day for the arts in Evanston,” the website says at the top of its page.

The website Evanston Arts Buzz allows the art community to interact through one website, enabling those interested to find a number of art-related postings and news in one spot. Upon entering the site, users can see event listings and Twitter, Facebook and Instagram feeds all directed at the Evanston arts community.

The website also has information about Evanston galleries, museums and arts-related organizations.

In order to contribute, users on Twitter or Instagram must include “@evanstarts” with their statuses in order for them to show up on the website. Facebook users must either join the group “Evanston ‘Arts Wanted’” or “like” the Evanston Arts Council page. By posting through either of these pages, the feeds will show up directly on the website.
