Evanston man accused of Northbrook carjacking

An Evanston man is accused of stealing a car after a drug deal turned violent last month in Northbrook.

Marsean Hood, 19, and five other people met with a seventh person for the exchange at about 7 p.m. Sept. 23 in the 2700 block of Dundee Road, according to Northbrook police. When the seventh person “changed his mind” and tried to leave, Hood held him down and struck him with brass knuckles.

Northbrook police said Hood, of the 1900 block of Jackson Street, ran to the person’s car and fled in it. Evanston police recovered the vehicle.

Hood has been charged with unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle and robbery.

A Cook County judge has set bail at $20,000 for Hood, according to police. He is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
