President Barack Obama will return home next week to cast an early ballot in the presidential race.
The Obama campaign announced this afternoon that the president will arrive in Chicago on Oct. 25 to highlight the “ease, convenience, and importance of voting.”
First lady Michelle Obama mailed her Illinois absentee from the White House this morning, according to the campaign.
In a news release, the first lady urged voters to take advantage of early-voting opportunities across the country.
“It means you don’t have to worry about your schedule filling up, or getting sick, or having to work late on Election Day,” she said. “And more than anything, it means you can act right now to move our country forward.”
Early voting takes place from Oct. 22 through Nov. 3 in Cook County. In Evanston, voters can cast early ballots from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Lorraine H. Morton Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave.
