Teenagers allegedly rob Evanston resident
Seven juveniles allegedly robbed an Evanston resident Monday afternoon.
The 53-year-old resident was reportedly watching his daughter play at William H. Twiggs Park, near Payne Street and Darrow Avenue, when seven teenagers approached him, said Evanston Police Department spokesman Cmdr. Jay Parrott. One of the teens grabbed the resident from behind and claimed he had a gun. He allegedly took a Samsung Galaxy Tablet worth $600 from the man’s backpack and then fled.
The man’s daughter apparently didn’t notice the incident, Parrott added.
Driver allegedly threatens Chicago residents with gun
Two Chicago residents reported being threatened with a handgun Sunday afternoon.
The men were in a car with two other people at Ridge Avenue and Oakton Street when they got out of the car and confronted another driver about his driving behavior, Parrott said. The driver exited his vehicle, retrieved a handgun from his car and pointed it at the men. After a verbal exchange, the driver got back to his car and left the area.
Evanston police obtained the driver’s license number, Parrott added.
