Event: The OpenShutter Project Presents: “Faces: Characters of Modernity”
Where: Lake Room and Scholars Room, Norris University Center, 1999 Campus Drive
When: Thursday, April 12 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
This showcase features photos by Northwestern students from cultures around the world. The project goal is “to challenge our common notions and definitions of modernity through the vocabulary of faces and people.” The OpenShutter Project is associated with the Global Engagement Summit.

Where: McCormick Auditorium, Norris University Center, 1999 Campus Drive
When: Friday, April 13 at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Come out to see Martin Scorsese’s take on a children’s classic novel in the Oscar-winning film Hugo. Chase, a short film created by two NU alumni, will also be screened.

Event: Mukti: Music and Art for a Cause
Where: Nichols Concert Hall, 1490 Chicago Ave.
When: Thursday, April 12 at 7:30 p.m.
Suggested Donation: $10
Enjoy music, from classical to indie rock, and artwork by Northwestern and Evanston artists at this benefit concert and silent auction. The event is sponsored by the nonprofit organization As Our Own. All proceeds will benefit the organization’s Growing Healthful Girls Project, which provides Indian girls with well-balanced diets.
