Chicago teens charged with car burglary
Evanston police arrested three 18-year-old Chicago residents Thursday in connection with four car burglaries, according to an EPD news release.
Police stopped the teens for a traffic violation in the area of Asbury Avenue and Oakton Street and recovered stolen objects, including a set of golf clubs, an air compressor, a cassette recorder and numerous phone chargers.
Police charged the teens with breaking into two cars in the 1100 block of Monroe Street, one in the 600 block of Elmwood Avenue and one in the 900 block of Seward Street. They also charged all three with criminal damage to property and the driver with a traffic violation.
The teens will appear in court March 12.
