Northwestern student arrested in connection with illegal possession of liquor
Evanston police charged a Northwestern student Friday with illegal possession of liquor.
Detectives monitored Evanston 1st Liquors, 1019 Davis St., after receiving complaints from an alderman’s office, Cmdr. Jay Parrott said. They found the student carrying a box containing a 12-pack of light beer, a bottle of tequila and a bottle of vodka.
The student produced a driver’s license that identified him as a 21-year-old. Police identified it as forged.
Officers charged the student, 19, with illegal possession of liquor and misrepresentation of age. He will appear in court March 14.
Man charged with Metra battery
Police arrested a man from Kenosha, Wis., in connection with two charges of battery Saturday.
The 21-year-old was charged with hitting a Metra passenger in the head with a bottle as the train pulled into the Davis Metra station, 901 Davis St., at around 8:15 p.m., Cmdr. Parrott said. The attacker fled the scene, then struck an Evanston resident several times near the station.
The man was identified in both cases and will appear in court Feb. 23.
