The Week That Was
Kenan Thompson Speech
Actor and comedian Kenan Thompson visited Northwestern as A&O Production’s Winter Speaker last Friday. The “Saturday Night Live” cast member filled Pick-Staiger Concert Hall with nostalgia and laughs, bringing some much-needed Friday night excitement to campus as he interacted with the students.
Founder’s Day
Last weekend, Wildcats everywhere celebrated Northwestern University’s birthday. Northwestern hosted a Founder’s Day “SCVNGR” tour throughout the week and held the Favorite NU Experience Candle Showcase, followed by the posting of a cute virtual candle-lighting link on the school website last Saturday. Happy belated 161st birthday, NU!
The Keg’s liquor license revoked
Evanston Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl issued an order Monday revoking The Keg of Evanston’s liquor license due to the excessive serving of alcohol to minors. Though The Keg may still offer booze-less menu options, its future is dim and students are showing strong reactions against the decision.
Apply for PA
The time has come again for students to apply to become Peer Advisers. Applications went live online last Friday and the application deadline is Feb. 12. The NU community is already looking forward to another Wildcat Welcome Week!

This Week, NU students were NOT:
Dancing on the poles at The Keg of Evanston (too soon?)
Mad at the warmer-than-usual weather
Marveling at the ease of navigating off-campus housing contracts
Raving about how Winter Quarter is by far the most fun quarter at Northwestern
