Police arrested man in connection with attacking officer with knife
Evanston police arrested an Evanston man in connection with aggravated assault on a police officer early Thursday morning, according to an EPD news release.
Police responded to a complaint of loud music at 339 Howard St. and found the 45-year-old man intoxicated, Cmdr. Jay Parrott said. The man threatened the police officer with a knife and was then taken into custody.
He is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 26.
Four arrested in connection with mob action
Police charged a man with mob action and three juveniles with battery and obstruction of a police officer near Evanston Township High School on Thursday, according to an EPD news release.
Officers responded to a call near the high school and found eight individuals fighting, Parrott said. Police dispersed the crowd, but four people continued fighting.
The 18-year-old man is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 26.
