Man arrested after attack on officer
Police arrested a Chicago man in connection with an assault on a police officer early Monday morning, according to an EPD news release.
A police officer stopped the 34-year-old during a traffic stop for a DUI.
The man pulled the officer back and injured him, Cmdr. Jay Parrott said. Police then took the man into custody.
He was charged with battery and disorderly conduct. He is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 7.
Woman attacked on the head at a friend’s house
An attacker struck an Evanston woman on the head early Thursday morning, according to an EPD news release.
The 56-year-old woman was drinking at a friend’s house in the 1500 block of Darrow Avenue when the attacker battered her, Parrott said.
She immediately called the police, and the fire department arrived and treated her.
Burglar steals jewelry and alcohol
A burglar ransacked a house and stole more than $500 worth of property Sunday, according to an EPD news release.
The burglar broke into the house in the 1800 block of Brummel Street through the rear window and stole jewelry, an Amazon Kindle, Grey Goose alcohol and $200 in cash, Parrott said. Police sent a technician to the scene to gather evidence.
