A man fell on the Howard El tracks Monday morning and halted traffic for about 15 minutes, CTA officials told the Chicago Tribune.
The man slipped and fell on the northbound tracks near Howard Street, missing the electrified third rail. He was not hit by a train, and police said emergency personnel found him under the platform.
Power was temporarily shut off while he was rescued. He was then transported to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston in a conscious condition.
The brief traffic delayed affected the Red, Yellow and Purple lines.
