Intoxicated student refuses to pay cab fare
Police were called to Sargent Residence Hall, 2245 Sheridan Road, on Sunday by a driver with Norshore Cab after an NU student refused to pay his fare, University Police Cmdr. Darren Davis said.
When officers arrived on scene, it was determined the student would pay. During the stop, police determined the student was a minor and intoxicated. Because of the level of intoxication, fire paramedics were called onto the scene. However, the student determined he did not need to be taken to the hospital.
The matter was referred to the Office of Student Affairs and the student’s fake ID was confiscated.
Unconscious student found outside the Keg
Police found an NU student lying on the ground outside the Keg of Evanston, 810 Grove St. at about 2:15 a.m. Sunday.
University Police responded to a call from Evanston police requesting assistance with identifying the NU student, who was unresponsive and seemingly intoxicated, Davis said.
Police requested an ambulance for the student due to signs of impairment. Because the student is under 21 years of age, he was referred to the Office Student Affairs.
