Juvenile followed in street and bitten
A girl on her way home from school was involved in a violent dispute with an acquaintance Tuesday, said Cmdr. Tom Guenther of the Evanston Police Department.
She told police that as she was walking on the street, another juvenile female whom she knew by a street name approached her and began to threaten her with physical violence. The dispute was due to a previous incident between the two girls.
While the girl continued northbound on Brown Avenue, she was followed by her acquaintance who attempted to strike her multiple times. During the altercation, she was bitten on the finger.
The Juvenile Bureau is now handling the case.
Employee allegedly stole from local business
Police spoke to a man from Robby’s Communications, 333 Howard St., who reported his suspicion that a former employee stole $1,006, or the equivalent of seven cell phones, from the business.
Robby’s Communications buys and sells used cell phones. The caller said he suspected the former employee pocketed the cash for the cell phones and then manually inputted credit card numbers in their place. The caller realized this after coming across a discrepancy with one of the credit cards.
Police are currently investigating the case.
