Two Cents: Black Swans and domestic violence

Nicolas Cage was arrested for domestic violence on Saturday after fighting with his wife in a tattoo parlor. What were they arguing about?

Aliza Weinberger – “He wanted her to get a treasure map tattoo on her back.”

Laily Sheybani – “She was probably pushing him to do a halfway substantial movie.”

Ali Elkin – “Cage’s wife got cold feet about turning her entire back into a treasure map.”

Vasiliki Mitrakos – “He wanted to get a tattoo of their wedding date but insisted that they got married on the wrong date, so she got mad that he couldn’t remember their anniversary.”

Natalie Portman’s stunt double for Black Swan is claiming that Portman is taking credit for dance scenes that she didn’t actually do. Does she still deserve the Oscar?

Aliza Weinberger – “Of course she deserves the Oscar. She was a good enough actress to make us all think she was a dancer.”

Laily Sheybani – “She never did to begin with. Black Swan was so mediocre.”

Ali Elkin – “If all I wanted from a ballet movie was people doing their own dancing, I’d watch ‘Center Stage.’ In fact, I often do.”

Vasiliki Mitrakos – “If we started dividing awards based on what stunt doubles do, there go the Oscars, the SAG awards, the Golden Globes and even the Nobel Peace Prize. Although I’m not sure how defensible Obama’s claim to that award is…”
