Finding the Perfect Date
Are you ready to find the perfect date? Contrary to popular belief, your soulmate is not hiding around the corner. If they were then that would be totally creepy. You also won’t bump into that “special someone” at your weekly four-person poker game, at your after-school job at the BK lounge or down the hall in your 20-person dorm.
Finding someone to date means visiting new places, stepping out of your comfort zone and having an open mind.
Shake and Bake
Try something new like a cooking class. I’m serious. Get started on that hobby you never had time to try before. Say hello to that Julia Child type in the full apron. Maybe even let him or her help you when you burn the dessert you’re making. The proof is in the pudding.
Set the Bar
Sure it’s funny to meet someone when you’re six tequila shots in, but it’s not fun trying to remember his/her name in the morning. Leave any relationships formed only through alcohol where you started them – at the bar. If you are really looking for love, you won’t be able to see if through a thick pair of beer goggles.
Three’s a Crowd
Go out by yourself once in awhile. It’s easier to approach someone or be approached when you are on your own instead of hidden in a group of cackling girls or awesome frat stars. Check out the club baseball team or attend an open mic night at Kafein.
Ask Someone Out
Shocker, I know. But all kidding aside – just do it. What’s the harm? People never ever mind getting asked. It’s quite flattering, in fact. They may say no, but sometimes they say yes. Sometimes they’ve been waiting for you to ask them for a long time. Take the chance.
