Will Butler, a member of Arcade Fire, will speak at Northwestern next month as part of a student conference on civic engagement.
Butler, Weinberg ‘05, will talk with other young alumni on Nov. 2, said Asha Toulmin, a Medill senior and student fellow with the Center for Civic Engagement, which is sponsoring the event. The alumni “will share stories about the impact and lessons learned from their time at Northwestern and how they created meaningful lives for themselves,” Toulmin said.
Other alumni who will speak at the conference, which runs Nov. 2-4, include Natalie Moore, a South Side correspondent for Chicago Public Radio; Michael Blake, associate director of the White House Office of Public Engagement and deputy associate director of the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs and Shawn Armburst, who started the Mid Atlantic Innocence Project.
The conference will also feature school-specific alumni sessions facilitated by faculty members.
More information will be available in the next couple of weeks.
