Car broken into, no follow-up planned unless pattern found
Someone stole a DVD player from a parked car Wednesday night, authorities said.
The car, which was parked on the 1100 block of Clark Street, was broken into between the hours of 10 p.m. Wednesday and 1:15 a.m. Thursday, Evanston Police Department Cmdr. Tom Guenther said.
The offender or offenders broke into the 2005 Chevrolet by breaking the window, Guenther said. The stolen DVD player was valued at $300.
Police likely will not follow up on the offense unless a recognizable pattern emerges, Guenther said. As of now, there are no witnesses and no leads.
