Students for Ecological and Environmental Development announced that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will be their fall speaker at Wednesday’s Associated Student Government meeting.
Kennedy will speak during reading week on December 2 in Cahn Auditorium at 7:30 pm. Elisa Redish, co-chair of SEED, said the student group received notification from Keppler Speakers, an organization that provides speakers and celebrities for customers.
Kennedy is known for his work as a lawyer on environmental issues. He is the President of Waterkeeper Alliance, a Clinical Professor and Supervising Attorney at Pace University School of Law’s Environmental Litigation Clinic, the Chief Prosecuting Attorney for the Hudson Riverkeeper and a co-host of Ring of Fire, a program on Air America Radio. Time magazine named Kennedy one of its “Heroes for the Planet.”
