Ludacris tickets sold out minutes after they went on sale Wednesday, said Barry McCardel, A&O Productions co-director of promotion and public relations. Tickets went on sale at 10 a.m. on the Norris Box Office Web site. They were officially sold out by 10:39 a.m, even though many students reported a sold out message before then, McCardel said.
“We sold the vast majority of tickets in a shorter time frame than 39 minutes,” the Communication sophomore said. “Some tickets were still stuck in shopping carts and rolled back into the system if they weren’t purchased. So, some people were able to purchase tickets after other students saw the sold out message.”
Despite the shopping cart issue, A&O Productions was satisfied with the online system, McCardel said.
“We feel the system worked very well and we plan on using the system for future shows,” he said.
Ludacris will perform at Patten Gym for the annual A&O Ball on April 24.
Although more than 1,000 tickets were released, McCardel hopes to sell additional tickets next week.
“We are working on securing an additional crop of tickets,” he said. “We’re trying to get as many tickets out there into the hands of as many students as possible.”
Tickets will be available for pickup on Friday at the Norris Box Office.
