Sisterly love gets a whole new meaning in In Her Shoes when freeloading Maggie (Cameron Diaz) and her lawyer sister Rose (Toni Collette) find they may not be as different as they think.
The comedy exceeds expectations and the DVD’s features add to the film’s charm.
The People in the Shoes, which follows the movie’s progression from screenplay to final production, loses appeal after the first few minutes with its serious perspective on a light-hearted movie.
A Retirement Community for Acting Seniors, on the other hand, is a light-hearted behind-the-scenes look at the trials and perks of being an older actor. Diaz and other cast members discuss how they got to know their elderly counterparts well during the course of filming. From Death Row to the Red Carpet: The Casting of Honeybun examines the process of casting Hamlet, the adorable pug-mutt pooch who plays the sisters’ dog, Honeybun.
Though the movie warrants a DVD purchase, the extras are nothing more (or less) than typical and end up boring the viewer more than entertaining.
