Zentra, 923 W. Weed St. in Chicago, will host the 15th anniversary party for 89.3 WNUR’s Street Beat , a dance and hip-hop show, on Friday from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. John Tejada, a techno innovator, is scheduled to perform.

Grab a blanket Friday night and head to Chicago’s Mann Park, 2949 E. 131st St., to catch “The Wizard of Oz” as part of the Chicago Outdoor Film Festival. Younger siblings or baby-sitting charges might appreciate “Rugrats in Paris,” which is being screened at Portage Park, 4100 N. Long Ave. and 4000 N. Central Ave. Admission is free.

The Taste of Chicago begins its 21st-annual stint at Grant Park Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Everything imaginable from ice cream to African eats from more than 70 Chicago-area restaurants is available. A meal-sized portion can run up to seven or eight tickets (about $4), but sample portions can often be bought for three.
milwaukee’s best
The 11-day Milwaukee Summerfest kicks off Friday. Headliners include Destiny’s Child on July 2 and Blink 182 on July 5. Fairgrounds, located at 200 N. Harbor Drive, are open daily from 11:30 a.m. to midnight. Admittance is $9 to $10, or $8 in advance.

Need a little culture? Ravinia Festival in Highland Park hosts the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s performance of Verdi’s Requiem 8 p.m. Saturday. Lawn tickets go for $10, but student discounts are available for CSO concerts.

Before packing on the calories at the Taste, start out at Balbo and Columbus Drives for the 9th annual Race to Taste. The 5K run and 2 mile walk begin at 8:30 a.m. Sunday and cost $12 to $15.
