Some students spend Reading Week arguing with professors over grades. Weinberg sophomore Laura Ellis says they’d have more fun bargaining over the price of used couches.
Fulfilling a goal of her platform for Associated Student Government student services vice president, Ellis organized a flea market for Tuesday. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Norris University Center East Lawn, and will be pushed back to Thursday if it rains.
Admission is free, so Ellis said she hopes students passing through Norris will just stop by.
“Yard sales are fun, even if you’re just looking for the stuff,” Ellis said.
Ellis said anyone affiliated with Northwestern can take advantage of the free opportunity to get rid of unwanted items.
Ellis said she couldn’t get tables, but she did arrange for a shuttle to transport items that students do not want to carry to and from the sale.
Students should e-mail Ellis at [email protected] if they want to sell something, whether they would like to be near another group and the time they would like to meet the shuttle with their items.
And who knows what items will be for sale?
“It would be great if the cow showed up with a price tag on it,” Ellis said.
