Evanston’s 96th annual Fourth of July parade on Tuesday celebrated the community’s first responders.
Starting at 2 p.m. and moving along Central Street, the parade drew hundreds of visitors from the local area. Produced entirely by private funds and volunteers, the parade is a long-standing tradition of Chicago’s North Shore neighborhoods.

Correction: A previous version of this story misstated how many previous parades had occurred. This year’s parade was the 96th annual. The Daily regrets the error.
