On Friday, students convened at the Black House to support the students at the University of Missouri and Yale University who made national headlines protesting racial injustice this week. Hundreds of Northwestern students and community members then marched up Sheridan Road, yelling: “From NU to Mizzou, we care about you.” They eventually arrived at Henry Crown Sports Pavilion to speak out at the groundbreaking ceremony for the lakeside athletic facility. Throughout the event, NU students echoed the sentiment of black student protesters at Mizzou, demanding the University address racial problems at NU.
