For the first time in 60 years, a sitting president visited Northwestern on Thursday. President Barack Obama, addressing a crowd of Kellogg School of Management students and a handful of politicians, University administrators and undergraduates, delivered a speech touting the role his administration’s policies played in helping the U.S. recover from the 2008 recession. In Evanston, city officials lauded the historic day and NU students turned out both to celebrate and criticize the president.
