No 3. Northwestern beat No. 13 Michigan 15-6 in the inaugural “Lacrosse Night in Chicago” game, which took place at Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium on Thursday. The Wildcats are undefeated against the Wolverines in the teams’ 17 all-time matchups.
The Wolverines dominated the first quarter, holding a 3-0 lead late in the period. Graduate student attacker Niki Miles got NU on the board with one minute left in the first quarter, jumpstarting a 7-0 scoring run for the ’Cats. NU took control from then on, breaking into double-digit scoring while allowing just one goal combined in the second and third quarters. Junior attacker Madison Taylor led the team in points, logging six goals and two assists.
The ’Cats concluded the regular season on Saturday with a win over Ohio State. NU will take on either No. 25 Penn State or No. 8 Johns Hopkins in the Big Ten Tournament on Friday.
