A linked shooting and stabbing left a 45-year-old Naperville resident dead and 27-year-old Chicago resident injured Sunday afternoon, according to Evanston police.

Evanston Fire Department transported both men to an area hospital. The Naperville man died of a gunshot wound and the Chicago man, who was stabbed, is in stable condition.

Evanston police have not arrested anyone in connection with the shooting or stabbing.

The Evanston Police Detective Bureau and North Regional Major Crimes Task Force are investigating.
