Catalytic converter, purse stolen

The catalytic converter was stolen from an Evanston resident’s Honda Element on Thursday.
The 47-year-old man’s car was parked on the street in the 200 block of Richmond Avenue, according to the Evanston Police Department. The man noticed the catalytic converter was missing around 4:30 p.m.
Footage from a Ring doorbell shows that a vehicle parked next to his car around 12:49 a.m. before leaving at about 1 a.m., Police Cmdr. Brian Henry said. EPD suspects the vehicle is associated with the theft.
EPD has no suspects at this time.

Car window broken and purse stolen

A purse was stolen from a car in the parking lot of Planet Fitness on Wednesday. The purse contained a wallet and credit cards.
The owner of the car, a 26-year-old Skokie resident, noticed the passenger side window of her Suzuki Grand Vitara was broken upon returning to her car. The incident occurred between 3:15 p.m. and 5:09 p.m, Henry said.
EPD has no suspects at the time.
