Over $20,000 worth in jewelry was stolen from an Evanston woman’s home.
The woman, a 71-year-old reported that two rings, valued at around $10,000 and between $10,000 and $15,000 respectively, were stolen between Thursday at midnight and 7 p.m. on Friday.
The woman told Evanston police she hired a painting company to paint inside her house, located in the 2200 block of Central Park Avenue. When the painters left, she reported the rings were missing, police Cmdr. Brian Henry said.
EPD is currently investigating the theft.
Snickers stolen from Dollar Tree
Two Snickers bars were stolen from Dollar Tree on Monday.
At around 1:21 p.m., one of the store’s managers, a 30 year-old man, reported that a man who appeared to be between 20 and 30 years old walked into the store wearing a face covering, Henry said. The manager said the man took two Snickers bars, valued at approximately $2.21, and exited the store without paying for them.
Henry said the manager didn’t want to press charges, but that the man will be banned from the store permanently.
