Evanston Police Department officers reported two shots fired and recovered one shell casing following the shots Saturday around 6:50 p.m., Evanston police Cmdr. Ryan Glew said.

The officers were in the Darrow Avenue and Lyons Street area when they responded to the shots. Officers checked the area and found one shell casing at the intersection of Dewey Avenue and Emerson Street, Glew said.

The victim’s mother reported to police that her son and two other juveniles were walking north on Dewey Avenue when they were shot at, Glew said. Nobody was hit.

Glew said the case is under further investigation by EPD and they’re working to “identify the offenders.”
