Blotter: Man arrested in connection with suspended license, improper lane usage

A South Bend, Indiana, man was arrested Tuesday in connection with two traffic issues in south Evanston.

A police officer pulled the vehicle over in the 1300 block of Howard Street due to a lane violation, Evanston police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan said. Upon checking the man’s license, the officer found that it had been suspended.

He was charged with improper lane usage and driving with a suspended license.

Evanston man arrested in connection with violation of order of protection

An Evanston resident was arrested Wednesday in connection with a violation of an order of protection in south Evanston.

A relative of the man called police when the man entered the relative’s residence in the 2100 block of Oakton Street, which he had been barred from entering in accordance with the order, Dugan said.

Dugan said the man was taken into custody in the basement and charged with violation of an order of protection, a misdemeanor.
