A bicycle was stolen in front of the CVS in north Evanston on Thursday night.

At 7:15 p.m., a 15-year-old Wilmette resident went to the CVS in the 3300 block of Central Street and left his bicycle unattended in the parking lot, Evanston police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan said.

The teenager went inside for 10 minutes and by the time he came outside, his bicycle was gone, Dugan said.

Dugan said an unknown witness told police a male was seen driving off on the bicycle, but officers do not have any other description of the person nor a value for the bicycle.

Vehicle damaged in south Evanston

Police were dispatched to the 800 block of Brummel Street on Thursday morning after a 46-year-old Evanston resident reported her vehicle’s front windshield was damaged.

The woman told police her 2009 Dodge was parked in the rear of the location, Dugan said.

Dugan said the upper area of the windshield looked like it had been hit with something hard — possibly a rock or a pellet — that caused a spider web-like crack.

There are no suspects, he said, but the woman has had previous damage done to her car by neighborhood children shooting a pellet rifle.
