Blotter: Man arrested in connection with property damage, driving on a canceled license

A Chicago man was arrested in connection with two traffic incidents in north Evanston on Thursday night.

The man crashed the tractor-trailer he was driving into a light pole at the intersection of Sheridan Road and Noyes Street, Evanston police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan said. The officer discovered that the truck driver was using a canceled commercial driver’s license.

He was given citations for both damage to city property and driving on a canceled license.

Bicycle stolen from apartment storage area in south Evanston

A bicycle was stolen from a common basement storage area of an apartment in south Evanston, sometime between Tuesday and Thursday.

An unknown suspect removed the padlock from the storage locker and stole the bicycle, Dugan said. The bicycle is valued at $2,000.
