A woman was arrested early Friday morning in connection with driving while under the influence in downtown Evanston.
The driver said she made too wide of a turn and struck another driver, Evanston police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan said. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury.
The woman had the scent of alcohol on her breath and bloodshot, glassy eyes, Dugan said. She was subsequently arrested for driving while under the influence and issued a ticket for failing to reduce her speed to avoid an accident.
Father, son arrested in connection with battery in south Evanston
A father and son were arrested Thursday in connection with battery.
Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Sherman Avenue after an employee at Tommy Nevin’s Pub said the younger man attempted to walk out of the pub with a beer, Dugan said.
When the man walked back into the bar, the employee went to ask him to leave. The man then grabbed the employee by the shirt.
The employee struck and removed him, Dugan said. The man’s father heard about the incident, became angry and threw a bottle at the employee.
Both men were arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery.
