A Chicago resident was arrested Tuesday night in connection with a reported domestic battery in south Evanston.

Police were called to the 1400 block of Howard Street in response to a domestic dispute, Evanston police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan said. A woman told police she and the man — both 48 years old — had been in a verbal dispute when he punched her in the face several times.

Officers noticed injuries on the woman’s face, Dugan said. The man denied punching her.

He was charged with domestic battery and is set to appear in court on May 31 in Skokie.

A Morton Grove man was charged with disorderly conduct Wednesday morning in south Evanston.

The 45-year-old man had entered the backyard of an Evanston resident and entered his shed, Dugan said. When officers arrived, they found him intoxicated on the floor of the shed.

He told officers he was drunk and looking for shelter, Dugan said. He was charged for city ordinance disorderly conduct.
