Slovenian-American hip-hop and electronic musician Gramatik will perform as the penultimate act at Dillo Day, Mayfest announced Monday.

Gramatik, whose real name is Denis Jasarevic, has released nine studio albums. His most recent, “Epigram,” debuted in 2016. “Native Son,” from that album, is his most recent single.

In a 2016 interview with Mic, Gramatik called his music a mix of samples spanning genres. The magazine called his work “rooted in blues and funk.”

Mayfest said in a news release that it is confident Gramatik’s “unique sound will appeal to diverse musical tastes on campus.”

The 32-year-old musician received nominations at the Beatport Music Awards in 2010 and 2012. Gramatik is set to play at Lollapalooza this summer.

He is known for saying it is “morally right for music to be primarily free” and has fought against internet censorship policies. All of his music is available for free online.

Gramatik is the first artist announced for Dillo Day, which is set for May 20.
